Tyler Fulton - Varsity Head Coach
Tyler grew up in Highland Village, Texas where he played his youth hockey for both the Dallas Storm organization and Marcus High School. He participated in three national championships as a midget player, and upon graduating from Marcus had his number retired. He played junior A in the Eastern Junior Hockey League for the Boston Harbor Wolves, and then played NCAA for Morrisville State College in upstate New York. After earning his degree in Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition Management, he came back to Texas to attend the University of North Texas. He played ACHA hockey for UNT as he completed his degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
Tyler has worked as a hockey instructor for Robby Glantz Power Skating schools and as a head instructor for Pro Ambitions Hockey. Several years ago, he coached the Marcus High School JV team to the city championship. He has years of experience, in both the collegiate and private sectors, as a strength and conditioning coach preparing clients for athletic performance.
Tyler currently runs his own business as a private strength and conditioning coach and on-ice skills coach. He is the U16 DJHA Assistant Coach and believes in developing players not only to be better hockey players, but better overall men by giving them the tools they need to thrive in the future.
Mike Soulen - JV Head Coach, Varsity Assistant Coach, Goalie Coach
Mike grew up in Irving, Texas where he started playing hockey at the age of 7 as part of the Dallas Jr Stars. At the age of 10 he took his rightful place between the pipes where he would play select hockey for the Jr Stars and the Lone Star Wolves organizations. In high school Mike played for the Carrollton Farmers branch school district where he would say he had some of his proudest moments of his playing carrier. He played on the Junior Varsity team and 3 years on the varsity team. His senior year he would move to Salt Lake City, Utah to play junior hockey. He would play a total of 3 years of junior hockey where he stared coaching goalies with Cam McDonald and Billy Pye.
After junior hockey he would get the opportunity to walk on the Saint Mary's University men's hockey team. Unfortunately a skate to his wrist kept him out his freshman year but he would fulfill his dream of playing NCAA hockey by playing on the team the following 3 seasons. He graduated with a degree in Sports Management in 2010 and would eventually return to Dallas. Since returning from college Mike has been working part time with the Dallas Stars in their front office. He has been giving private lessons and helped coached teams intermittently but is looking forward to being a part of the coaching staff to help prepare the young hockey players to reach their goals in the game.
